Photocopy of typescript transcript of a manuscript journal for 29 Apr 1704- 3 Aug 1711.
Apparently kept by William Hunter during Marlborough's campaigns in Germany during the War of the Spanish Succession.
The writer seems to have been a civilian (probably an officer's servant) in close contact with both the 1st Foot Guards and Marlborough's Headquarters. The day-by-day account contains much detail on troop strengths and dispositions, as well as describing several engagements with the enemy.
Associated with the War of Spanish Succession (1702-1713).
