Description
Cotton document wallet containing envelopes and postcards, 1916 (c). A bullet is embedded in the postcards and the wallet is reported to have saved the life of A/Cpl Ernest Albert Edward Fankini, 13th (County of London) Battalion London Regiment (Kensington); the lead pistol bullet is not jacketed and therefore probably fired from a revolver; it entered ‘in reverse’ having previously struck an object. Associated with World War One (1914-1918).
