Description
Malacca walking stick, NCO, 1939 (c); the nickel silver knob is embossed and engraved with the regimental badge of the Middlesex Regiment, foliate decoration and the initials ‘M.T’; owned by Captain Michael Alfred Raymond Trotobas, leader of the ‘Farmer’ circuit of the Special Operations Executive, 1942-1943; in 1939 he became a regular soldier in the Middlesex Regiment; after Dunkirk he was recruited to the Special Operations Executive’s French section and given a commission in the Manchester Regiment; he was killed in action in occupied France in 1943.
