Rhinoceros hide whip, 1915; preserved natural hide, from a single strand of leather; rough exterior surface is visible and the leather has contracted to a cylindrical form; the handle is bent upwards on itself and the whip has become brittle and bent into; used by the Wasangeli tribe of Somalia and acquired in 1915.
