Guard post 1837, with pierced scroll work, motto and royal arms under crown. The Wilkinson record describes the blade as, ‘Flat solid patent tang’ and the hilt as ‘7th Hussars pattern’. Pulman joined the Bengal Artillery in 1842 and became a Captain in 1857. He is listed as being on Furlough from the 2nd Battery in the 1860 Army List, and so probably bought this sword while on furlough in the United Kingdom. He died in India in 1863.
