Indian Army Cavalry Service Issue talwar sword, 1900 (c). Made by Robert Mole, Birmingham. The talwar was a curved steel sword from India very similar in design and function to the scimitar and shamshir. It was an excellent slashing weapon with a sharp tip that could also be used for thrusting. The weapon was used by several Indian cavalry units and was adopted by many British officers.
