Presentation sword, 1805. Presented to Capt Archibald Young. Curved blade inscribed with dedication and maker’s name, JJ Runkel, Germany. Associated with 1st Bn Banff Volunteers. Boatshell hilt with stirrup guard. Gilt brass lion’s head pommel with integral backpiece. Grip bound with wire.
