Pattern 1912, Cavalry Officer’s sword; blade has engraved decoration, including the owner’s name, possible makers names’, S J Pillin and W W White, the regimental device of the 17th Lancers, crossed lances, the royal coat of arms and motto, a beaver, spray of maple and the title, Royal Canadian Horse; normal pattern hilt; the blade is unusually ornate and possibly bears biographical allusions to its owner Lt Col H S Stewart.
