Large metal travelling trunk, owned by 2/Lt Nigel K S Hensman who served his National Service with the 12th (Prince of Wales's) Royal Lancers, 1953 (c)-1954 (c). The trunk is inscribed with his name and regiment and the name of the ship, 'New Australia'. The destination is listed on the label as Singapore. Painted in white ink on lid, '2LT HENSMAN XII RL/ NEW AUSTRALIA'. Printed label on side with handwritten details, 'WANTED ON VOYAGE/ HENSMAN 2/LI XII RL/ Name of Vessel: NEW AUSTRALIA/ Port of Embarkation: SINGAPORE/ 1ST CLASS'.
