Respirator, General Service, Mark IV, rubber with separate canister attached by means of a tube, dated 1942 Belonged to 2/Lt Richard John Hanby Holmes. Dates from prior to the light service respirator, introduced in 1943. With canvas case, Mk VII. Divided internally into three compartments and closed by a single flap secured by two brass studs. Used by Hanby Holmes during his National Service.
