Silver presentation tray, 1901 (c). Manufactured by the Goldsmiths [and] Silversmiths Company Limited, 112 Regents Street, London, hallmarked London, 1900. Rectangular in shape, with a handle on each of the two shortest sides. Kelly was baptised on 11 Feb 1833, but when he enlisted underage, at 14 years, he gave his date of birth as 11 Jun 1830. He served with the 66th Foot from 1846-1864, when he transferred to the 105th Foot, serving with that Regiment until 1875, when he transferred again, this time to the 40th Foot. Kelly retired on half pay in 1880 with the honourable rank of Maj. In 1883 he joined the Egyptian Police, retiring in 1901. He died on 24 Oct 1901.
