Case of drawing instuments, possibly belonged to a relative of John Spencer, grandson of the first Duke of Marlborough, 1745-1765 (c). Contains seven steel dividers, two steel pencil holders, and ivory folding rule, an ivory parallel rule, a steel protractor. Case is lined with green velvet, including lid. Lid velvet has metal clasp, which lifts to reveal a note set behind glass, a setting for a steel protractor, and an ivory rule.
