Description
Band sword belonging to the 1st Volunteer Bn Guernsey Rifle Volunteers, 1880 (c). Similar to Pattern 1856 Mk I swords. Straight blade. Cruciform hilt with quillons which end in a trefoil design, and a stringed bugle horn on the écusson. Made by Thurkle. Stamped on hilt: '1st VB GR 56', with stringed bugle
