Description
Officers’ shoulder belt plate, 17th Madras Native Infantry, 1826-1855. Mounted upon an oblong gilt copper plate, a white metal design of a frosted garter within a laurel wreath surmounted by a monarchial crown. Within the garter, a gilt copper dome pierced with two holes side by side. Beneath the wreath a frosted scroll. Two hooks, two studs and a leather backing on reverse.
