Regimental medal, 2nd Banff Artillery Volunteers, 1868. White metal, with high relief design within a continuous wreath of thistles encircling a plain field on both sides. Suspended by a fixed ring which passes through another fixed ring attached to a bar bearing, in high relief, a spray of thistles. Passing through the bar a corded silk ribbon, dark green of a shade similar to that worn with the Volunteer Long Service Medal 1894-1908. Obverse: Mounted design of a field gun on a ground, all also in high relief. Engraved upon the field above the gun, a scroll. Upon the upper and lower portins of the wreath two frosted scrolls with burnished edges. Reverse: Inscription.
