Officers’ pouch belt plate, 4th (West London) Middlesex Rifle Volunteers, 1860-1882.
White metal. A frosted garter with beaded rims surmounted by a monarchial crown and enclosing, upon a voided ground, a shield with unknown arms (quarterly 1 and 4 three seaxes fesswise upon a vertically milled ground, indicating gules, the points to the sinister, 2 and 3 a lion rampant gardant). Reverse bears two vertically placed screw and nut fittings.
