Description
Officers’ shoulder belt plate, 1st Regiment, Berkshire Local Militia, 1808-1814. Silver. Mounted upon a burnished ground, an eight-pointed rayed star, the uppermost point of which is displaced by a monarchial crown. Upon the star, the frosted Garter bearing the burnished Garter Motto. Within the Garter, the burnished numeral ‘I’ upon a frosted ground. Two engraved scrolls, one above the star, the other below it. Reverse bears a hook fitting above the centre and two studs at base.
