Typescript letter from Maj Gen D K Bernard, Director of Recruiting and Organisation at the War Office to an unknown recipient, 2nd April 1935. In it Maj Gen Bernard informs the recipient that the 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards will be required to proceed to Egypt for a “short tour of foreign service”. From an album containing 90 photographs compiled and presented by Lt-Col J R S Besly, Grenadier Guards, entitled: ‘Egypt 1936’, but covering the 2nd Battalion during 1935-1937.
