Cutting from an unknown newspaper relating to World War One service of some members of the Souster family, 1914-1915 (c). Charles Souster seems to have written to the newspaper to inform them that he knows of at least two clerks from the Town Hall who have volunteered to serve during the First World War. One is his brother Reginald (12th Bn Middlesex Regiment) and the other is Percy Perry (16th Bn Queen’s Westminster Rifles). Also mentioned are two of Charles Souster’s other brothers, Fred, 2nd (City of London) Battalion London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers), and Albert (6th City of London Rifles). Charles himself later served with the Royal Artillery. Of the four Souster brothers mentioned, Reginald and Albert were killed and Fred was discharged with wounds. From an album containing 97 photographs, postcards and newspaper cuttings relating to Pte Frederick Souster, 2nd (City of London) Battalion London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers), 1914-1917. Associated with World War One (1914-1918).
