Description
Cutlery case, 1815 (c). Externally covered in what looks to be dark grey ray skin and inside lined in velvet. Shaped like the cutlery it contains. Part of a set of campaign silver cutlery in a leather case, consisting of a fork, knife, three spoons, and a thimble. Used by Captain George Frederick Nolting (also spelt Notting), 5th Battalion King’s German Legion. Nolting served in the Waterloo Campaign of 1815.
