Description
Diary on notepaper relating to the service of (then) Maj J F Burn-Murdoch, Egyptian Army, 2nd Sudan War, 15 May 1896-2 Jun 1896. He started from Sillva by boat and appears to have spent most of his time at Halfa and Abu Simbel. He was kept busy inspecting horses, visiting hospitals, inspecting offices and boats, and squadrons at field firing. Relating to the 1st (Royal) Dragoons. Associated with the 2nd Sudan War (1896-1899).
