Notes relating to Pte Stewart McPherson, 78th (Highland) Regiment of Foot (Ross-shire Buffs). Pte McPherson was awarded the Victoria Cross for gallantry at Lucknow on 26 Sep 1857, when he assisted a wounded Private during very heavy fire.
