Description

Manuscript letter dated ‘No. 17, Serra de Moita, 21st March 1811’, from Captain Percival to his Aunt, Mrs Charles Drummond. 4 pages. In this letter Percival has little to report; that his regiment has marched for days and halted because they have outrun their provisions. He also mentions how unpleasant it is to see the bodies of Portuguese civilians executed by the French merely for fleeing from them.
