Letter from Lt Col Henry Murray, 18th Hussars, to his wife Emily, Palencia, 25 Aug 1813. 
Written after receiving an accumulation of letters from home. Murray expresses deep concern at the prospect of his wife travelling to the Peninsular to visit him, and worries that she would be exposed to all kinds of ‘insult and outrage’ on such a trip. Murray also writes that he had mostly recovered from his injuries but was still weak.
