Letter from Ensign Gordon Hugh Davidson, Bengal European Light Infantry, to his father, Subathoo, 3 Jun 1845.
He writes that he attended a fancy Ball thrown by Sir Hugh Gough at Simla, the light build of Indian sheep, officers sick so duty comes round pretty regularly.
