Photograph of a group in Indian soldiers and British officers standing in a tented camp in Srinagar, Kashmir, besides a flagpole. The names on the back are difficult to read but include Doctor Henry Walter Bellew, Sir Thomas Douglas Forsyth and Col Thomas Edward Gordon. Taken on the 1st of September 1873, probably by Capt Edward Francis Chapman, when he accompanied Forsyth on a diplomatic and trade mission to Yarkand (Yarkant) in Western China in 1873.
