15 Pounder guns, 4th Battery, 1st South Midland Brigade, Royal Field Artillery (TF), Berrow, Somerset, 1911 Photographic postcard by Etches, Weston-super-Mare, 1911 This image shows four 15 Pounder Breech Loading (Converted) guns with which the battery was armed. These guns were obsolete 15 Pounder guns which were fitted with more modern recoil systems and a revised breech. They provided the Territorial Force Field Artillery units with large numbers of guns, which couldn’t be met by the newer guns that were being produced at the time. Berrow was used for camps and exercises for the Gloucestershire Royal Field Artillery.
