Manuscript letter from Emilia Wade to Lt Col Sir William Lee, Baronet, at Hartwell, near Aylesbury, 1799 (c). Letter informs him of Eliza's illness and subsequent recovery and talks of his embarassment at that time, presumably over debt. She also tells him she prevented him from being arrested at Windsor six weeks previously, just before his father's death. She remonstrates him for not having visited her. From a collection of 112 letters and envelopes addressed to Lt Col William Lee, 5th Baronet, 16th (or The Queen’s) Regiment of (Light) Dragoons, 1749-1810. Also includes photocopies of other letters from the same correspondence.
