Description
Photograph of a wounded African soldier being carried by stretcher bearers onto a motor launch, Burma, 1944-45. Rivers were vital transport arteries in Burma as the rough terrain sometimes made evacuation of the wounded by ambulance difficult. Air evacuation was also a common feature of the campaign. Associated with Brig M W Briggs and the 11th East African Division and the King's African Rifles. From photograph album of 147 photographs, 1944-1945.
