Description
Press cutting from The Sunday Express, 2 Oct 1938. Cutting commemorates the 'achievements' of the British Army in Salonika twenty years ago in September 1918 which in its own words 'crashed through and sent a Bulgarian and Germany army of nearly half a million into a headlong retreat that led to the first great armistice.’ From a collection of documents relating to Sgt Thomas William Heybourne, 11th (S) Bn, Royal Welsh Fusiliers who served on the Salonika Front, World War One (1914-1918). Sgt Heybourne almost certainly served with the Middlesex Yeomanry, but transferred to the 11th (S) Bn of the Welsh Fusiliers, probably in Salonika. Associated with World War One, Salonika (1914-1918).
