Photograph of Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill with a group of senior British and American officers inspecting a long line of tanks and soldiers. The photograph was probably taken in April 1942, when some American senior officers and the Military Attaché reviewed the Guards Armoured Division displaying their capabilities on Salisbury Plain. The officers in the picture probably include Lt Gen Bernard Paget; Lt Col William Pasfield Oliver and Maj Gen Allan Adair. The original negative appears to have been doctored in a few places with the insignia on the shoulders of three soldiers being removed. From an album of 271 photographs collated by General Sir James Newton Rodney Moore, Grenadier Guards, with images taken between 1940-1949 in places such as Windsor, the Guards Depot, Canada, Germany, Belgium and Tunisia.
