Written by Maj H S Cardew MC to the Signal Units, Poona, regarding the estate of his batman, Spr Granapragasan, who left money and belongings with him to prevent theft by the Turks and later died in captivity, as well as the fate of the company records.
From a collection of manuscript diaries and other papers relating to the service of Lt Col Henry Spencer Cardew, MC, 1/39th Garhwalis, as a  Signals Officer with 34th Signal Company, 6th (Poona) Division in Mesopotamia, September 1915- April 1916 and his subsequent captivity after the capture at Kut al Amara.
