Soldier’s letter written by Sgt Charles Henry Williams, real name Michael Kelly, No 2 Coy 1st Bengal European Fusiliers, from Cawnpore to his father in London, 1 Feb 1848. He apologises for being undutiful, worries about his brother and complains of all the backbiting there is in the army.
