Description
Letter from Ensign Gordon Hugh Davidson, Bengal European Light Infantry, to his mother, Simla, 14 Sep 1845. He writes that he is in Simla on sick leave. Cholera has killed over 50 men in the regiment. From a collection of letters and papers of and relating to Lt Gordon Hugh Davidson, 1st Bengal European Light Infantry, 1841-1852. Lt Davidson was killed at the Battle of Sobraon, during the 1st Sikh War, 10 Feb 1846. Plus transcripts. Associated with the 1st Sikh War (1845-1846).
