Geoffrey Gunnis’s father Francis Gunnis was Mary Lloyd’s brother. The date is hard to read, but may be 6 October 1916. The letter was possibly sent to Geoffrey Gunnis in hospital in Rouen after he was severely wounded in the attack on Les Boeufs - he died a week later.
