Description
Photographic copy of a group of Grenadier Guards officers and soldiers, by a cannon on the gun platform of the fort at Eastbourne, 1863 (c). They are wearing different orders of dress, and the Colour Sergeant, second from the right, wears a full dress tunic and bearskin. The officer standing and wearing his frock coat is named as Lt Col Cameron Neville Hogge, and the two sergeants on the right hand side both seem to be called Pyke. From a photograph album containing 22 copies of images taken by Lt Col Henry William Verschoyle, 3rd Battalion, Grenadier Guards. The original photographs were taken between 1860-1864, and consist mainly of group portraits. Grenadier Guards reference number 99.
