Sent to Lt Gen Colin Campbell when a Lieutenant of the 55th Regiment of Foot at Wexford, Ireland from his father John Campbell, First Cashier of the Royal Bank of Scotland, 19 April 1775.
Letter discusses problems with Colin’s purchase of the commission to Quartermaster and the possibility of an exchange between Colin and the Adjutant of the Regiments, whereby Colin would become Adjutant and the present Adjutant Quartermaster with the assistance of the Colonel of 55th Regiment of Foot, the Earl of Cavan.
