He stands wearing undress uniform including a frock coat and sash, with his peaked pillbox forage cap resting beside him on a piece of furniture. He leans on the furniture with his right hand, whilst also hold a pair of gloves and a cane or swagger stick. From an album of 202 photographs in the Grenadier Guards Photograph Archive compiled by or presented to Surgeon Major James John Marjoribanks Wardrop.
