Manuscript note to Mrs Bourne from Capt Dennis Herbert James Ely, 15th Bn Durham Light Infantry, France, 11 Feb 1916; he thanks her for her boxes of gifts which were sufficient for the whole company, which he found awaiting him on his return from leave; Ely was killed in action at Fricourt, 2 Jul 1916.
