Diary covering George Vallette Britten's service, March 1947-1955. He took his battalion from the Northamptonshire Regiment to Berlin, Vienna and Carinthia. He returned to the United Kingdom and the War Office in 1949, became Commandant at the Small Arms School at Hythe in 1951, before becoming an instructor at Fort Levenworth, Kansas in 1953.
