Description
8 Infantry Brigade patch, 2002-2006 Square blue woven patch with embroidered red six windowed five turreted fortified manor house at centre. Originally raised in 1914, this brigade saw service in the First and Second World Wars before being disbanded. It was reactivated in the 1960s for the conflict in Northern Ireland. It was disbanded in 2006, its responsibilities handed to 39th Infantry Brigade. This formation badge was readopted by the Brigade in 2002 and depicts the Gate of Jerusalem or possibly Richmond Castle, there appears to be no conclusion on which is correct.
