Photograph of Queen Elizabeth talking to a soldier from the Guards Armoured Division as a senior officer looks on. Several other officers and soldiers line up alongside the road and next to a vehicle named ‘Dumbo’. The image was probably taken during an inspection of the unit on Salisbury Plain, 20th May 1942.

From an album of 271 photographs collated by General Sir James Newton Rodney Moore, Grenadier Guards, with images taken between 1940-1949 in places such as Windsor, the Guards Depot, Canada, Germany, Belgium and Tunisia.
