Posed photograph entitled ‘The Old North Front Guard, Gibraltar’, 1865 (c). A group of around 25 soldiers of the 86th Foot can be seen in front of a guard room building, which is itself in front of the rock of Gibraltar. There is a small building on the right-hand side which may be a cookhouse. Some of the soldiers are sitting and relaxing, others are standing to attention with their rifles.
