Encloses the warrant appointing John Neptune Sargent to the Order of the Bath.
Written in manuscript on black rimmed paper with a note by Sargent saying he has received the insignia.
One of 19 items relating to Gen John Neptune Sargent, CB, 95th Regiment and 2nd and 1st Bns the Buffs Regiment, 1844-1864.
Gen Sargent also served in 42nd Brigade Depot and 27th Foot, 1st Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, 1873 to 1893, in Hong Kong, China, Alma, Inkerman, the Siege of Sevastopol and Malta.
