Khaki corded cotton. Knee patches and strapping of self fabric, the knee patches padded. Knee vent bears six pairs of worked eyelets. Attached to each lower edge is a band of drab cotton fabric. One end of this band extends over the vent edge and bears three buttonholes for attaching to three tin buttons. On each front a diagonally placed pocket. On right back a patch pocket with central vertical pleat. Upper edge of pocket has been sewn up. Six tin buttons at upper edge on inside, two at centre back and two on each front. Fly fastening. All buttons bear the manufacturer's details: A ALEEM AND SONS 1939. Drab cotton lining at waist and fly with similar fabric pockets. Lining and pockets stamped: 3 H7 S H AND H 3 ? 1 39 7.
