Letter from Ensign Gordon Hugh Davidson, Bengal European Light Infantry, to his father, Camp near Ferozepore, 29 Dec 1845.
He writes that the Regiment had heavy casualties at the Battle of Ferozeshah, 21 to 22 Dec, ‘I was struck by a spent ball on the arm but fortunately it did no damage beyond bruising it a little.’
