Copy of a photograph of Capt Frederick Thomas Hervey-Bathurst, Grenadier Guards, Balaclava, 1855, originally taken by Roger Fenton. He is pictured standing, wearing undress uniform with frock coat and peaked forage cap, resting his left arm over the withers of a horse. Other horses can be seen behind him, along with some wooden huts, probably stables. From an album of 202 photographs in the Grenadier Guards Photograph Archive compiled by or presented to Surgeon Major James John Marjoribanks Wardrop. The album is entitled: ‘Personal Album Surgeon Major Wardrup [sic], The Regiment, 1858-1868’, but covers the period 1854-1872. Mainly officers portraits. Grenadier Guards reference number 2.
