Sent from Lt Col Walls of the Corps of Royal Engineers on Gibraltar to Lt Gen Sir Hew Dalrymple associated with Lt Gen Colin Campbell, Lt Governor of Gibraltar.
Letter informs him of investigation of Perexil Island with the Royal Navy, as it is the best place to intercept supplies from Tarifa or Algiers to Ceuta and has two large bays that will accommodate sloops of War and other boats that have the protection of the Guns on shore.
