Sent from J Belshes at Torres Vedras to Lt Gen Colin Campbell, Lt Governor of Gibraltar.
Letter thanks Campbell for the kindness of his family when he was in Gibraltar and has kept the parcel for Captain John Campbell as the 42nd (Royal Highland) Regiment of Foot will be going out to Portugal and discuses the state of the Army in Portugal. Informs him as a postscript that the 47th (Lancaster) Regiment of Foot and the Chasseurs Britanniques are arrived at Lisbon.
