Pattern 1868 lance, 1898; bamboo shaft bound with leather protector (which is damaged), leather strap and a red and white pennant; three sided point head; 1868 pattern (Ffoulkes) shoe; according to the RUSI records carried by Lancers Morton and Sherring, 21st Lancers, at the Battle of Omdurman, 2nd Sudan War (1896-1899), 1898.
